Francis W. Pettygrove (1812-1887) was a pioneer and one of the founders of the cities of Portland, Oregon. After partnering with Benjamin Stark in 1845, Pettygrove established a profitable trade in lumber and foodstuffs between Portland, San Francisco, and Hawaii.
